What happened was the mirror got stuck in the u bend of the toilet and acted like a flapper. When the toilet was flushed the flapper would close and the toilet would fill with water and overflow. When the snake was put into the toilet to clear the clog, the mirror would tilt at an angle opening up and allow the water to drain and the snake to move down into the pipe. when the snake was in the toilet it would flush fine. Remove the snake, the the mirror would flap closed again and the toilet would overflow when it was flushed. We removed the toilet checked everything. Put it back and the same thing occurred. Until we decided to replace the toilet did we realize once we broke the toilet open that the mirror was the cause all the time. So strange things can happen so do not rule anything out when checking on how your toilet is working.

getting red water when the softener would regen. They gave us a new one and within a month, it was shot. Well then they retested it and found a major difference in the numbers...so now they have the settings as high as they will go and told us to put in the iron-out into the brine well once a month. I'm wondering if the tank needs replaced again (it's only been 2 months or so). They said the only other thing to do is add another softener on top of the one we have.

You should expect to pay around $4500 or so for this project to snake a new pipe from the street to the house. They use a device called a Mole. This tool is connected to a new plastic water line, a hole is dug at the curb and one next to house. Air is pushed into the new pipe causing the Mole device to ram itself through the soil. They point it at the house and after 15 or 20 min the mole comes out the other hole next to the house. They remove the device and connect the new pipe to the plumbing inside the home.

As far as lining the inside of the pipes inside the house. Not going to work. The pressure in the house needs to be really great for the now undersized plumbing pipes to be able to handle the flow enough so you have pressure to the sinks and showers.
