Spoiling the Dog! DIY Dog Bed {repurposed Dresser Drawer}

An old dresser drawer makes for a great dog bed. Just ask Rosie. Add a parasol for a bit of shade (and fun).

I love the drawer and the colours are lovely, but since it looks to me as if you used a block ...»
of foam, if I had done it, I would have carved out a 'nest' the size of her 'curl-up', before covering it. She just doesn't look as cozy 'floating' above the cushion, as she could curled up in a hollow.

Vintage Baskets Painted White

If you have any vintage baskets around, don't be afraid to paint them for a fresh new look! A faux Plaster of Paris chalk paint recipe works well for a vintage-shabby look.

  • My sister's vintage Schwinn from the 1960's.
  • The bicycle is under a crabapple tree that provides some protection and is surrounded by various hosta and a bridal veil bush!

Vintage Bicycle Basket Planter Take 2

Last year I planted flowers in the basket of my sister's vintage Schwinn and it was one of my most popular posts. I decided to do the same thing this year with a few changes - different flowers and a "fun banner".

  • How beautiful is this finished Pallet wood coverd coffee table.
  • Had this scratched up coffee table for years...Yes, I have a big dog. It needed a fix , and fast.
  • Here's what it looks like after a heavy sanding. Almost there, but not quite yet.
  • The old weathered pallet wood is almost the same color as my sanded down table top.....only prettier.
  • I used a brad gun with 2 inch nails to attach all my wood strips.
  • I mixed a couple colors of craft paint with some water.
  • I used my washed down craft paint to make all my freshly cut edges to look weathered...but not new.
  • I love how all the holes from the pallet nails line up on the new table.

Updating an Old Coffee Table With Pallet Wood

If I could throw things away, this project never would have happened. I had the very weathered coffee table with deep nasty scratches. I sanded it down as far as I could, but it was still ...»
too weathered. I had a pile of weathered pallet wood that fit the top of my table almost perfectly. I attached the wood with brads and hid my freshly cut edges with watered down craft paint.

Much better now...it looks "intentionally" weathered

Bicycle Wheel Trellis

Spotted this trellis on a walk around the neighborhood. What a great recycling project and a sturdy trellis for peas. More on posts trellising peas here http://gardentherapy.ca/spotted-bicycle-whee...

  • Go find yourself a rusty fire pit and enjoy it on a table, as an architectural detail in your house or as a light!

Rust Restoration

I picked this rusty fire pit out of the bowels of trash hell! I wanted to use it outdoors as a hanging light or fill it with sedum as a vertical garden. But in order for it to not ...»
eventually disintegrate, I had to do some restoration.

You can do this with anything rusty that you want to be able to use but not have it continue to rust. This process is sooo simple! See the pictures for explanation and then get to it! I can NOT decide if I still want to use it outdoors or if I want to use it inside as my kitchen light! If I transform it further, I'll let you know

Ahh poor baby! I have spots built in around the house for our kitties. Mostly the 20 year old. ...»
She has hiding spots every where. I have one that likes to drink from the potty, so I leave the lid up. Then I have another that likes to fall in the potty! Never a dull moment!
