Painting: Front Door Paint Problem

We have a steel front door that was painted when we bought the house. We've had the house for 10 years and nothing I do will make the door paint not bubble and peel off. Its looks like it ...»
is in a perpetual state of the measles. I've sanding the spots down, primed them, put kilz on them....it works for a while but then the bubbles return. The door gets the full afternoon Arizona sun. Outside of replacing the door (with maybe the same problem), what can I do?

Repurposing & Upcycling: Cast iron stove doors - what to do with these lovelies?

We had an old cast iron wood stove in our garage, but never used it because the bottom was rusted out, so hubby took the pieces to the scrapyard. However, I kept these fabulous doors and feet! I thought about creating recycled wood frames and hanging the doors up as wall art, but I wanted to see if any other creative folks out there could help me think of other options? As for the feet, I may use them under a large potted plant, but I am open to suggestions about those too. I can't wait to see what great ideas pop up!

There are 2 things that come to mind. First, clean them up with a wire brush and if you want ...»
to keep the "finish" seal them. I would lay them flat and put a solid piece of glass or good plexi and turn them into either end tables or a big coffee table. You can even incorporate the legs into the table. Second, I would mount them on an outside wall of your house (or a sturdy fence) and hand a planter hook above and use them as a backdrop for a hanging plant.

Design & Décor: Help! Can you help redo this living room? Rock, brick, bookshelf, off center window are too challenging for me.

vaulted ceiling. The large window is off center. The left side of the room has a huge built in bookcase. The right side of the room has a curved brick wall which leads to the dining room. There is a 1/2 wall brick planter separating the living room from the dining room. I like the brick but am not so sure about the rock. My furniture is Queen Anne style so this is really a challenge for me. I would appreciate suggestions. Thank you

    not.

Good luck with your project. Older houses are such a blessing in some ways, but definitely not for the project challenged. It is always a work in progress.
