  • This "found" window was first painted with ASCP Pure White for a fresh look
  • Then I created a stencil onto cardstock using the Cricut machine.
  • I'll admit that the spray bled through and that the lettering wasn't perfect. So I took a razor blade and carefully scraped away the excess.
  • This old window now has a new life. It could be used as a hanging on the wall, in the garden like I've shown it here, on top of a mantle or dresser. The possibilities are endless.

A French Touch for an Old Window

With the use of my new Cricut machine and some Rustoleum Frosted Glass spray, an old window gets a Parisian flair.

Greetings and salutations to all of you: I have a request, does anyone of you know have any advice on how to do this? I have a 6 pocket steel front door, because of the HOA I can not just ...»
change the style of my door, so I want to cut the pocket inserts out and put glass into it. Has anyone done this before? What would be the best on doing this? The door is steel.. THANKS for any advice :-)

I would first think putting glass in the areas of the panels would be changing the style of ...»
the door. Before doing anything get it cleared from the HOA. Going to your local lumber yard or millwork company you can get the door you're looking for. AS KMS said however these are not all that common and will cost a bit of money.

Home Maintenance & Repairs: Water leaks in at floor level when raining

During a hard rain water leaks into room at floor level. I've had the grout line cleaned and resealed. During a recent rain, I observed the area where the water is entering from and I ...»
could hear water falling inside wall before appearing on floor. It doesn't appear to be the grout as I thought. Could it be the caulking/sealant around the outer window frame or what?

Is this an exterior wall? You mentioned hearing water falling inside the wall, which I would ...»
suspect would not be possible if the wall is insulated. If it is an interior wall, most likely a roof flashing, chimney flashing, or roofing itself? I have seen the rubber flashing around a plumbing vent deteriorate many times over the years, but usually it leads to only a small leak.

Alcohol works for cleaning windows better than other "cleaning products" such as windex and such

On my windows this would be prefect. On Pella windows this would leave streaks and a film. On ...»
Pella windows you can only use vinegar or a product containing no ammonia or alcohol. I also know car detailers that only use alcohol to clean the windows.

Here is the problem with today's products there is good and bad. We now have recylable material, harder products and new finishes. The one size of cleaning no longer fits everything. You have to know your product and manufactories who develop the products. Even everyday things such as my first flat screen can be damaged easily with everyday cleaning products. I by the way who knows this damaged the first TV flat screen TV by cleaning it with windex. So check or so a small tester before you go all out and clean it. But my windows this would be absolutey prefect for.

  • My sister hemmed a large piece of fabric - large enough to cover the window and then clipped them and put a curtain rod through them. Instant privacy curtain for not too much money.
