address numbers in it and set it out front of your home, have a decal made with a cool design on it to go with your decor, for the table idea even if its not a thick glass you can lay a thicker glass over the top and in between the two glass put photos or trinkets if there is enough space between them.

Windows & Doors: My neighbors see straight into my house

I live in an apartment building in quite a dense neighborhood. One evening, when looking out my window, I realized I can see evert pixel of my neigbors washing machines driers, kitchens and showers if in the wrong side of the house (The photo attached is just an illustration, my camera just caught patches of light)

This means that all those 200 eyes of my neighbors see all my stuff too.

I would like a bit more of privacy, what you ...»

recommend I do?

I thought of installing curtains, but this would have some side-effects I might not be happy with (cost, forgetting to draw them and loosing a lot of sun light through out the day)

food-coloring-tinted Elmer's glue to achieve a sea glass haze quite like the windows in the middle of the picture. I'd suggest: try it on a piece of something smaller first (obviously...) and assuming you must remove it when you move, try washable glue.

The nice thing about using tinted glue is that if you get tired of the color, you can change it!!

Windows & Doors: Help finding a Tudor style entry door handle set ASAP!

My husband is almost finished w/ a Tudor Arched Front Door (& door frame)-I waited too long to pick out an entry handle & I've been told it'll take 5-10 weeks to get it! Anyone out there have any ideas about where I might look to find one quicker!???

I don't have my heart set on the one in the photo, but it needs to be black and a rustic (similar) style...I'm open to anything right now!

the door. Before doing anything get it cleared from the HOA. Going to your local lumber yard or millwork company you can get the door you're looking for. AS KMS said however these are not all that common and will cost a bit of money.

could hear water falling inside wall before appearing on floor. It doesn't appear to be the grout as I thought. Could it be the caulking/sealant around the outer window frame or what?

Is this an exterior wall? You mentioned hearing water falling inside the wall, which I would ...»
suspect would not be possible if the wall is insulated. If it is an interior wall, most likely a roof flashing, chimney flashing, or roofing itself? I have seen the rubber flashing around a plumbing vent deteriorate many times over the years, but usually it leads to only a small leak.

SLS has the best advice. Hire a qualified professional to come out and track it down.

Sometimes I think I'd like to have a small overhang over my back doors

onto the deck. This would be useful if my dogs happen to be outside when it starts raining and I haven't noticed, so they're stuck outside. You'd think they'd get under the table, but they don't. They just stand at the door, getting wetter and wetter until I come let them inside. But my yard is very shady and inside this door is one of the brightest places in my house, so I don't want to obscure whatever sun might come into the kitchen with an overhang. I've seen that wavy clear ...»
plastic-looking stuff over some decks, but I think it's quite ugly so don't want to use it. Is there some kind of clear material I could use as a tiny roof for an overhang so I'll still get sunlight into the room? Here's where it would need to go.

Of course you could have a contractor come over and build you a portico which would be very nice but I'm thinking probably more than you are looking to spend. I'll just toss this out here for you, we could build a panel with a 1" X 1" frame and the clear glazing to any desired size, let's say 3' X 6' and you could simply attach it under your eave but you'd need to figure out the framework to support it. This would run you about $100.00 We build hundreds of these every year for people to enclose their porches and patios and you'd simply have one of these panels placed over the door for some weather protection. Just thought I'd toss this out there for you as an option. Eugene
