April in Review

Where in the world did the month go? It just seems like yesterday someone was playing an April fools prank and 30 days later the month is over! And although the month buzzed right by, I ...»

Using steam on wood flooring does damage, you are cleaning the sealer not the wood. Steam is ...»
forced in to the wood. It destroys the sealer. The underside of wood is not protected and it is causing swelling and water damage.

Using as little water on the floor as possible, if you use water dry it. Using a dish soap a small amount in a bucket of water and rinse, dry, dry dry. Use a damp mop, spray bottle with water, micro fiber mop and dry. Best products to purchase is Bono, Swifter. Never spray cleaner on the floor spray it on the mop.

I hate responding negatively on anyone's blog.

But this is not only damaging your floors it will damage others floors.

I am a professional. I do this for a living and contact or find guidelines from the manufactory before I touch any surface. Surfaces such as wood flooring, engineered flooring, tile, granite, slate, is not only expensive, it is damaged by using the wrong cleaners. There are green cleaning guidelines by the manufactory. Use them theses surfaces will last a lifetime..

Be careful what you ask for and painting the ceiling.

My builder did a great job insisting that we incorporate his "signature trademark". A 4 tier trey ceiling. I absolutely loved that ceiling for 10 years. Loved to look at it when I walked ...»
in the room, loved to show it to all my guests and loved to stare at it when I was lying in bed. Loved it UNTIL I had to paint it. Yup, up and down, up and down, but it's done and although took a bit longer then expected looks fabulous. Come take a look.

The best Hardwood floor advice you will get today

If you live in a house like me with big wheels and roller skates buzzing by on your hardwood floors then you know after time your floors begin to take a beating. And it's not just the big ...»
wheels, it's the sun and foot traffic that help the floors lose their once upon a time luster and shine. Rather then going through the process of resanding and restaining , I occasionally will use a product call reviver to help give back some some of the "newness" to my hardwood flooring. For a quick demonstration and to see the big wheel culprit , come visit me on my blog. #springcleaning
