Man Cave Makeover

We recently made some changes to our family room, better known as my husband's "man cave". The room went from orange to neutral shade that complimented our dark furniture better. The ...»
movie posters stayed as they're our favorite part of the room. I am pleased that we have a room that we both can enjoy. I tried to create room that would be comfortable to us both; a masculine room with a feminine touch.

My Mother's Day present

My husband surprised me with all of these kinds of cactus and plants for Mother's Day. He went ahead planted them in this old Barbecue pit we no longer are using.

Garden Diva Chick

I've had this wire dress form for a long time and have been wanting to do something with it. Paid a visit to Wingard's Nursery because they had a potting area with very helpful staff. Had a good day being creative with her.

Finally Flowers on My Waxleaf Ligustrum

Finally I get to see the tiny flower clusters on my waxleaf ligustrums. They are very pretty. Looks like snow has fallen all over them. Douglas Hunt, you were so right! Pruning caused the ...»

bathroom mosaic

HI, I have never posted anything on the internet before but am in the middle of a renovating a house and have done so many fun things and wanted to share. I couldn't decide on one type of ...»
tile to surround our claw foot tub so I collected various colors of tile that I liked made a mosaic. I didn't draw it out, just wanted it to look free and flowing. Please excuse the mess in the rest of the picture, had a failed attempt at hanging a chandelier, need to find a smaller one. Oh, we have a farmhouse sink with a sideboard to be used in there also. The whole bathroom will be finished with all re-purposed materials, sink and tub found at junk sales, refinished, mirror found in garbage and repainted, windows off of Craig's List, floors taken out of a foreclosed house and put in by my husband, over the sink light from garage sale. OH and the 2 doors, not shown, are also Craig's List items.

Home makeover

I want to share one of the biggest project I've done in my entire life. Sick of paying high rent and looking to save some money, we found a mobile home that was on sale for only $1,000. ...»
Yes, a thousand. Anyways, my hubby took me to look at it and my first thought was: " I will never live there, I don't think there's much we can do with it" Well my husband saw something that I didn't see. He said he felt like we could do some work to it and make it work. Sooo... We decided to take the challenge. It was close to tax time, so it was the perfect time to do it. I wanted to share some pictures. This is my humbled home and I don't complaint nor regret the choice we made by buying it. We paid $1000.00 for it and spent about $4000.00 fixing everything. I think that was a great deal because with a budget of $5000 we were able to buy, appliances (brand new), the floor (for the whole mobile home),walls, ceiling, lamps, everything in the bathroom is new, paint and everything. I bought everything from Lowes.

Sloths

We had some visitors this weekend. 2 sloths in our back yard and 2 more on the trees next to home. So cute! The kids loved the visitors :) #wildlife #sloth

Tivemos algumas visitas neste final de semana. 2 preguiças no nosso quintal e mais duas nas árvores próximas a nossa casa. São lindas e as crianças adoraram os visitantes. #bichopreguiça #vidaselvagem

Pest Control: Squirrels at my bird feeder

HELP! I've used Coles Hot Sauce for birdfeeders for years to deter squirrels and now it's not working. Any other ideas besides purchasing squirrel proof feeders?
