  • Lovely and worn look. Easy way to transform and used a can of spray paint.
  • So similar to the Duck Egg that I have used on several projects but a FRACTION of the cost!
  • An economical way to get the transformation you have been waiting to do! http://www.youaretalkingtoomuch.com/2013/05/annie-sloan-colors-in-a-spray-paint/

Jim, you should have just mailed me the shirt and I could have had it back to you by now! lol ...»
Either the stain would have been gone, the shirt would be off white now or there would be a BIG hole where the stain was lol.

You have a wonderful clean bright space here ...»

.Your dining room seems like it needs things on the walls. I think moving the little table and accent chair where the china cabinet is and then hanging the mirror above it would give the walls an interest piece. I do like the china cabinet but it does look on the short side with your lovely wainscot walls.

You also mentioned that you have around table to possibly move into the dining room. I would either put the round table there or turn the dining table the opposite way. The way the table is now mirrors the kitchen island and the round table with either a vintage lace table cloth or something with in a print with a color to accent the kitchen would be beautiful.

I love your purple Kitchen Aid mixer and the kitchen rug. What about a couple more pops of purple in the kitchen? Maybe a tiered bowl fruit holder on your counter. This could hold anything from veggies, fruit, rolled up kitchen towels, a small plant on the top tier....etc.(I put a picture) Most of them come in black but with a can of spray paint you can make it a shade of purple !

And last but not least, what about fitted covers for the living room? Check out Sure Fit covers. You can get just one for the chair in a neutral color or a print to liven up the living room or get one for the couch in a neutral color. You can live with the furniture you have and fall in love with it all over again. Would you be up to putting the china cabinet somewhere in the living room? It may look nice on an angle in the corner to the right of the fireplace. The color of the china closet would look nice with the color of your chair.

  • using a clean glass jar, apply removable adhesive labels of your choice (i used round labels from the office supply store)
  • turn your jar upside down to prevent paint overspray + apply several light coats
  • once dry, gently remove the labels
  • add a layer of glass floral beads or sand. this protects your surface from heat damage from a long-burning candle

Crafts: Zippers Galore

I acquired a huge basket of vintage sewing supplies. I love all my new goodies, however I have yet to find a use for approximately 40 different size and color zippers. Do any of you know crafts or uses for these treasures?

Make a cool wall hanging. Sew them on to a piece of plain fabric like muslin or burlap line ...»
them up side by side, have some open part way,

some closed. Short thin ones next to thick long ones. You can even hand sew some on for added texture. Make a stretcher type frame from any scrap wood and staple it on.. This would be a nice addition to a sewing or craft room.

mentioned Florida when I was talking about colors is, from my experience when living is a warmer climate people tend to decorate with fun tropical colors. If you live in the north east area or colder areas people use warmer colors.

Rejuvenated Dresser

I just cannot bring myself to take a perfectly great piece of furniture; an antique or a piece with exceptionally beautiful wood, and paint it. So I choose to rejuvenate pieces that are SAD and I Paint them HAPPY!
