  • This is the top of my rain X change basin.. It is part of my pond that I installed. It holds around about 1000 gallons of pond / rain water..I use it to water my garden. I planted around 20 Impatiens on top this spring. 3
  • My fish in the lower fish pond..They help fertilize..It is just not a water garden 3
  • My pumpkin only around 600lbs at this point.. 3

Things in my backyard..Waterfalls, streams, pondless waterfalls, Fish ponds. Installed by Gem Ponds

After a long day of building, I like to come home and walk the grounds and unwind.

okay here is something new

Okay I got this idea from 1 of my planters I was making, I call this my BEER SPA and would like feed back from anyone about it. Right now it's a proto type I know other things I can do ...»
maybe better, it will right now hold a 24 pack of your favorite bevy in cans, thinking an 18 pack of bottles ( need to make 1 inch taller ) for those. Just trying anything to make an extra buck or so.

like I said it's a proto type ... now the bench idea sounds pretty good and yes after I took ...»
the picture I did put some short legs on it. As for drainage it's drilling a hole and using a cork for a plug.

  • Pond cover to keep the raccoons out. Fluffy our cat keeping guard!! 2

Keeping Raccoons out of the pond...

I have a pond, and like most people, also have fish. But, did not realize how BAD Raccoons are..I have been "hit" twice, and the loss is devistating if you take pride in your fish like I do. They will come in and "take a bath, while eating sushi". So, we built a cage top for our pond. our pond is small, so this was easier to do, but the same idea can be used for somewhat bigger ponds. This cover was made from bambo stakes and chicken wire, with zip-ties to hold it together. I can ...»
remove it whenever " it's clear ", and I am working in the yard...BUT ALWAYS put it back on at night!!

Need helpful advice on winterizing a koi pond

My husband built the small koi pond you see in the pictures (and from the previous post I shared) earlier this year when our Bassett Hound passed away in her memory. We have thoroughly enjoyed it. But now, as summer is nearing fall, we have a lot of questions about what we need to do to winterize it. Will we need a heater? Do we run the fountain all winter? Do we remove the plants? Will the water lily survive over winter...etc. etc. etc.! We live in Tennessee, so our winters are ...»
mild. We do have a "deep" end in the center of the pond for the fish to go down deeper. Any advice?
