    island top (the only place I have butcher block) and I am careful to keep it wiped. I also wipe it down with Clorox kitchen cleaner and it stays perfect! I wish I had BB through my entire counter tops!

    prefab next to the fir floors everywhere else so I opted to stain it a dark gray. My house has quarter sawn white oak stained driftwood gray and they hide dust and scratches beautifully. This gray is a combo of black and white stain, 4 coats, and I believe as it wears out should look really nice.

  • $1. Money well spent. No rewiring necessary. Just some spray primer, bronze and candy apple red Rustoleum. Check out the after in red.

    Have you thought about painting the backs of the open shelves red? Or at least adding some sort of paper in red to the backs? If I didn't have a migraine now I'd offer to do a virtual using items you want to display in there.

Rope Remake

Here's a quick, affordable, project to add texture to any space and update a basic light.

All you need is a can of "Tacky Spray" permanent adhesive and some fine jute rope.
