Want to know what to do with an old window and some fence boards?

#BeforeandAfter

First, you take some old discarded windows from a job site and distress, paint and ...»

distress some more to achieve the desired look. Then you get a family photo enlarged as an engineering print to fit the chosen window. Use cardstock and the Cricut to produce a long held family motto. Take some old fence boards and make a farmhouse looking shutter and put it all together! "Family is forever" is front and center in our kitchen to remind us everyday of what is truly important!

  • This one was finished with decorative paper and Mod Podge. I then attached a decorative clip with twine.
  • I distressed painted this one with white and a rusty paint. I glued two of my homemade wood buttons on the front and made a handle with bark covered wire.
  • For a more industrial look, I kept this one mainly silver with a burlap wrap and some silver accents.

Recycled Can Caddies

It's easy to come up with some handy storage caddies by recycling tin cans. I decorated a few can with a variety of different things like burlap, decorative paper & Mod Podge, and paint. ...»
I added wire handles to some by punching a couple of holes into the sides of the cans to attach the wire through.

  • Need some texture and color for your outdoor table? Try these easy rope-wrapped and painted terra cotta pots!
  • I started with a simple terra cotta pot!
  • Starting at the top, I used my glue gun to attach the rope.
  • I finished up wrapping the pot with rope. I snipped the rope off with scissors, and secured it down with hot glue.
  • Using left-over turquoise latex paint from another project and a standard paint brush, I painted the base of this pot.
  • Perfect outdoor centerpiece!

Rope-Wrapped & Painted Pots!

I wrapped rope around some cheap terra cotta pots and added a touch of left-over paint! The result is a cute outdoor centerpiece! See tutorial for full details!
