hollow log planter

I began this project by spraying the dried log with termite spray. I then used a planter bag and placed it inside the log, filled it with potting soil then trimmed the bag level with the log. I then transplanted my plant. This makes a nice addition to my courtyard.

Gardening: Anyone know the name of this flower?

Yesterday after the landscapers finished clearing the back of our lot, this flower was left standing all by itself. Does anyone know what it is? It is along at the top of the over 2 foot stem, but I believe I can see another unopened bud about 1/2 way down.

Painting: So California, Channel Islands Harbor. Exterior Paint suggestions

We need to paint our 3 story beach home. Now it is white on white. Roof is dark charcoal color.

Our 2 neighbors are peach and rust. They both have terra~cotta tile roofs.

Any suggestions??
