  • Two tables in turquoise. Both of the tables were put together from salvaged parts then given a paint makeover
  • I painted the legs and grain sack striped with a special mix turquoise and used a simple off-white on the table top.
  • I distressed both pieces using an electric sander.
  • I applied a very, very light coating of dark wax to the tables.

Turquoise Grain Sack Inspired Table and A Fun Side Table

This project was inspired by Sue@SullivanandMurphy. I loved her simple grain sack table top and I put together a table that was perfect for the project. Sue's grain sack stripe was red ...»
and I love red but I went with turquoise and it turned out great, if I do say so myself!! I also put together a little side table from some salvaged items.

  • This chandelier looks vintage but is new.
  • I used a drapery panel and the dust ruffle from my daughter's crib to soften the wall behind the bed.

A Vintage Bedroom Reveal

Decorating my young daughter's room was so much fun! I used many pieces that have been in our family for generations. A bed and dresser which were my own mother's when she was a little ...»
girl, shadow boxes hold my grandmothers baby gowns and a sweet vintage vanity which is actually a "new" piece to us. I also softened the oak bed by adding a simple cornice above using a curtain panel and the dust ruffle which used to be on my daughter's crib. Come on by to see more details! ~Vanessa

  • The 'After' Do you think I gave it a Farmhouse feel? 5
  • The 'Before', bland, unattractive typical 'mobile home' kitchen. 1
  • I love how the light streams through the window to light up my new kitchen. 1
  • Painting the cabinets white made the stove just blend in, love it! 1
  • The Roman Shades were easy to make but time consuming, I'm very happy with how they turned out. 2
  • I opted to add a sink skirt rather than putting the cabinet doors back up. It added a lot to the Farmhouse feel.

Kitchen Makeover

We moved into a double wide mobile home and I was determined to transform it to give it a Farmhouse feel, not an easy task. I used the existing cabinets and painted them out with Behr ...»
Creamy in semigloss. The flooring is click and lock from Home Depot. I love the new look now and I feel I achieved my Farmhouse feel. I made the Roman shades myself so I saved a ton of money with that part of the makeover. You can see more of this makeover at http://magazineyourhome.blogspot.com/2013/01...
