  • Take your light and check it out closely as some are different. 1
  • By the bulb you should see some small screws
  • Remove the screws and SLOWLY pull the pieces apart. You will then see a normal, everyday, single AA battery. Yep, that is what gets charged by the sun during the day so that it glows at night! 2

Ok, so her trick doesn't work for everyone, but it should work for some. And yes you can ...»
recharge regular batteries. It's not recommended by the makers, but it can be done with the right equipment and if the light has a regular in it, then that's what that light was designed to do. Not everyone is as practical or as mechanically inclined as others, so they may not realize the sun is charging a battery.

Windows & Doors: Name that style.

Our bedroom windows in our older house feature three rectangular windows (which have replacement inserts)that are in a tight bank with the center window being taller. I have struggled with the issue of window treatments and have settled on wide white faux venetian blinds, which I do like. However, I would like to soften them with some sort of fabric treatment but I am stymied by the style. Is there a name for this style? Any brilliant ideas for window treatments? PS I can sew!!

What about this type window treatment. http://www.hometalk.com/157221/serene-master... ...»
It would unify the windows and still maintain the style of the house craftsmen house.
