Painting: Can the inside of a clothes dryer be painted?

I dried a permanent marker in my dryer and it looks like a dalmatian dog.

As long as the marker is not rubbing off on your clothes, do not mess with it. The enamel ...»
finish should be left alone. Any painting will only gum up the works and could end up getting on clothes when the dryer gets hot.
