Penny floors

Saw this kitchen floor made by mosaic artist Amanda Edwards using pennies. Seems like a great idea. I was actually thinking of using this idea for a backsplash, but still a lot to consider.

Doing a lot of painting?

The best advice I ever received was to wrap the wet paint brush or roller in Saran Wrap if you plan to use it again with the same paint in the next few days. Having to wash it out every day is a huge waste of paint and time.

You can wrap brushes used in oil based paint with plastic as well. Here though stick them in ...»
the freezer. Unlike a latex paint (which is best left in the 'fridge) it won't freeze solid.

Painting: I'd really like to scrap the popcorn ceilings in my house myself.

It's not in the budget to hire someone, so not a consideration. I've read the articles and seen the videos, and of course, they make it sound so easy. Any comments or warnings?

BTW...thanks for the link, Dan! It's also good to know that test kits are available at Lowes.
