Cleaning & Organization: How do u clean grout? I have a porcelain floor and its not even a year old yet and the grout looks horrible!

I never use any cleaning fluids, just a steam cleaner...ty

Tiling: What is this orange stuff?

I am removing 4x4 tile from a 1957 concrete block house kitchen backsplash and I expected to find thinset under the tile, but I found this orange stuff instead. What is this stuff and can I tile over it without any special prep?

working time. I have been doing this for years and it works great. You can not use the pre mixed compound as if it gets wet it will lose its holding power as it turns to a compound. Get the bags of 45 min. and mix about 4 cups at a time and apply it right away. You will have to mix the 45. min. yourself and also damppin the spots that you apply it to as this will hold alot better.
