About Me:

grandmother 3 sweet girls 3 yrs old and 1 yr old. Many friends of mine are under 8. Love to make my home fun, happy and special for the kids. Want the kids to have good memories.

Favorite area of home improvement:

Bought dream home. Electric system had to be replaced, found puddle in bathroom and plumber found 5 walls filled with mold. :( Every wall, ceiling has some sort of damage and insurance laughed at us when we tried to make claim - make sure you ask for mold insurance!! We live in drought area yet stil happened. House is old and needs love but also needs a ton of money. sigh... i'm not the only one in this boat!

  • I nearly painted the top at first. I'm glad I didn't. Love the woodsy warm look!

  • The framework was worked out so the desk had productive space underneath for the chair and rolling files.

  • Naturally a little bit of repurposing had to come into play somewhere. :)

  • The coke crate is perfect for pens and such. There are other repurposed office ideas in the reveal as well.

My $3.00 farm table styled pallet desk

Desiring a substantial desk for my work office located in my basement, this long farm table styled desk was created with pallet boards and reclaimed cedar planks for about $3.00. (had to ...»
buy new screws!)

It is one LONG amazing desk that's as sturdy as all get out! Cat likes it too. :)

water pump

I use this to water my plants. My husband hooked it up to the condensation line of the airconditioner. I have plenty of water in the hot summer to water most of my plants in the front yard. I think he is pretty smart.

3 times the charm! Bathroom gets a makeover

It took me three tries to get it right, but I finally found a look that I love even though I had to keep the tiles I hate! Now it's a soothing, spa-like space and I don't mind the tiles at all anymore!

Add vertical interest to a flower border with a funnel and a shovel or broom handle.

This handle was actually broken but worked well to elevate the funnel. Check out my blog post: http://organizedclutterqueen.blogspot.com/2...

Propagating Shrubs from Cuttings

Summer is the perfect time to propagate cuttings from your favorite rose, azalea or hydrangea.

Since it takes several steps, I found this excellent pictorial article describing the ...»

whole process. http://www.finegardening.com/how-to/articles...

The photos are of my own propagation chambers.

My shabby Bench

I was inspired by a photo of an old parsons bench. I loved the girly curves and shabbiness so I attempted to replicate it. Here is my version..

Garden Oasis on Porch!

Having suffered droughts for the past several years in Atlanta, I found a better way to have a garden...bring the color and flowers to my front porch! Old furniture, flower pots, ...»
birdhouses and faded garden items were painted with beautiful pots of flower added. Faded became fabulous!
