Home Maintenance & Repairs: I heard on one of the PBS home television shows the best time to replace your roof was during the Fall season.

Can any roofers who are signed on confirm?

I would imagine you're using them as a flower border and if so, you'll want to be careful with ...»
the over spray of a power washer. I would suggest getting your garden hose, a 5 gallon bucket , some rubber gloves and with a good soft bristle car wash type brush use a mixture of warm/hot water, laundry detergent and bleach and just soak and wash the mildew away...you can have much more control like this and won't damage any plants.

Rinse well and move right along...if no plants, just get a brush that you can screw a handle into an "Go To Town!" You'll be done before you know it! Hope this helps some, best to you. JL

Outdoor Living: Trying to locate a reliable contractor who will remove my deck that needs to be removed and hauled away.

I'd like to replace it with just stairs coming outside from the door. I'd like to have the wood be preserved and pest free. Any ideas what the cost would be?
