Can someone identify this plant for me?

I split this from my mom's plant when I potted hers up to a larger pot for her last year but she doesn't know the name of it either. Does anyone know what it is? It's a houseplant, and ...»
it's doing well. I water it once a week, keep it in front of a window, give it osmocote fertilizer.....

Mailbox From Ugly to Pretty

Our mailbox, at our summer home, in Pinetop, AZ was so ugly. My husband insisted, once the snow plow took our our regular mailbox, that we install one that could be swung to the side when ...»
we left for the winter. I tried to get Ivy to grow up the post to no avail. This summer, a couple of weeks ago, after finishing a couple of my first mosaic projects I got the idea to mosaic the ugly mailbox. It took me a week to complete it but it was so worth it! :) No longer ugly and we have met several people ,as passerbys admire it, while we are sitting on our deck. I am having so much fun with this new found craft.

  • Our Bare Backyard, Pre-Fire Pit
  • Add some flagstone pavers, low voltage landscape lighting, and a variety of shrubs and small trees and we're left with our Fire Pit Oasis!
  • We dug down about 8 inches so that we could lay a base of gravel (57 Stone) underneath the fire pit for drainage
  • We used stacked stone to form our fire pit. (The backside of the fire pit rests against a mounded landscape bed, so basically it's built into a mound.)

Building a Stacked Stone Fire Pit

Jacque and I have both always loved spending time outdoors. When we moved into our new house, we wanted to make our backyard, a place to relax and enjoy time together. We decided that a ...»
fire pit would make a great addition to the bare yard. We started with a blank slate and ended up using stacked stone to create the fire pit.

Revamping a Mid Century Modern Chest of Drawers into a Media Center

Using a $15 thrift store find, I created an under-TV stand for electronics as well as a charging station for my mobile devices. The drawers are used for seasonal accessories (hats, ...»
scarves, gloves) as well as spare blankets. Total project cost was under $60!

Beadboard Wallpaper

For those of you who haven't discovered beadboard wallpaper, let me introduce you! I discovered it 3 years ago (Graham Brown UK version) and haven't stopped using it yet. From bathroom ...»
renos, to ends of kitchen cabinets, to inset door panels in furniture, there are tons of use for beadboard wallpaper. I loved it so much I started selling it in my online shop, off my blog, Southern Hospitality. Here's a link to a bathroom project using it: http://southernhospitalityblog.com/beadboar...

recycling in the garden...

this year i wanted to start a lil garden with some tomatoes and peppers along with a few hanging plants...

so looking out my window this spring i saw an old swingset frame and a bookcase that had seen better days...and thought hummm..wonder what i can do with those...

Thus became my lil raised bed garden (the bookcase) with hanging plants overhead on the swing frame. I even used some of the rubber mats that my grandson didn't use anymore to kneel on along with a few tiles left ...»

over from a home build that I got from a friend.

Have harvested a few Tommy Toe tomatoes so far..peppers are coming along with even a coupla melon vines...and my flowers are doing well even in this drought (put sponges in the bottom of the planter)...I totally enjoy....next yr going to maybe add some green bean vines and who knows what else....
