My Front Porch Makeover

After two years of residing in our house our entry has finally received a makeover. I started with a design board where I gathered my ideas. Next I came across some great finds for unique ...»
pots and planters to use for decoration. Then new paint, a fancier header above the door, a new light fixture and I love it! Check out my whole makeover at the link below.

  • Some fluorescent spray paint and you're in business! This lasts until the grass is cut! 1
  • I tripped over the travel ping pong net that the kids use on the dining room table on rainy days while cleaning up when it hit me. Take the game OUTSIDE!
  • I used the leftover spray paint from a nightstand I'd painted recently. I ran out of red so using some blue painter's tape I made a quick star and filled it in with the blue to hide the blank spot.
  • The golf ball basket I picked up at a yard sale finally found it's purpose.

DIY Backyard Games

Every year we throw a Fourth of July party for the neighborhood. Usually we rent a Bounce house and all the kids have a ball. This year we decided that the kids were getting too big so we ...»
had to come up with something else. Kickball and baseball are always fun, but I wanted a couple of games to keep them in the backyard too. Here are some photos of our backyard Twister game and the last minute DIY ping pong table I made out of plywood and saw horses with only 15 minutes until the first guests arrived!

Wedding Guestbook Bench

When brainstorming ideas for a wedding guestbook, I came across a bench that all the guests signed. It was a brilliant idea! I got all my bridesmaids together and had them help me build ...»
Ana White's Rustic Bench (plans here: http://ana-white.com/2010/01/plans-rustic-be...), painted it white and added some custom artwork with a paint pen. At the wedding, all the guests signed it, and I sealed it with polycrylic. It's the perfect heirloom piece, and our guestbook is displayed at all times at the foot of our bed! Not bad for only spending about $15 ;) Details on how I added the artwork can be found here (http://www.killerbdesigns.com/wrapping-it-up/)

Stenciled Tables

Recently I've stenciled a couple of dining room tables that have been fairly popular, so I thought I would share them with y'all! They are done so that the wood shows through the stencil ...»

I made flowers out of various dishes and china. Plus metal pipe and I have really cute flowers!

Using window caulk instead of glue, just caulk pieces together. Add a flattened silver spoon to the back so the handle can go down in the hollow pipe to make them into flowers for you garden art!
