  • A view looking through an old, mature Japanese Maple.

A beautiful view of a Japanese Maple.

While making a stop at one house today, I noticed that I could easily get behind a very old and mature Japanese Maple to take a photo of its structure. I crawled around the back and took a few photos. This maple has been growing outwards from an existing hedge, thus opening up the back, which was perfect for a little photography, but never seen by anyone else.

  • Storm window in the open position 2

Vintage Storm Windows

My home was built in 1940 and it has the original tilt-out storm windows. The storm windows have a pretty cool stay / lock mechanism that keeps the window tilted open and conversely, secured when it's closed (see pic).

I need to find a few more of these as some of my windows are missing them, but I can't seem to locate them anywhere. Does anyone know where I might buy some of these?
