  • Pallet fence panel after trimming and painting.
  • The fence is being installed. 2
  • The garden gate was made from pallets too. The arbor was made from my childrens' old sandbox. We cut the large boards down to build the arbor.
  • The fence is almost finished.
  • Here is a picture taken from my bench at the back of the garden looking towards the arbor. The fence is complete. Now on to making the garden look pretty. This will take awhile. 1

Re-purposing pallets

This is a fence I made for my garden using pallets and old pickets from a fence that had been torn down. When I ran out of the old pickets, I used pallet boards and cut them to match the ...»
pickets so I could complete the project. My fenced area is 30' X 40' and I still had pallets left over for other projects.

Vintage Desk Chair Makeover

I picked up an old and worn out vintage desk chair at a flea market last summer. It was in really bad shape, but I didn't really have any inspiration for the piece until recently when I ...»
started making an office space for myself. I used fabric from hobby lobby that was only 5 dollars a yard {plus I got to use my 40% off coupon} With the chair only costing me five dollars, this whole project cost me less than 20 dollars! Head on over to the blog to see the before & after and all the details. #before&after

  • Here's the beginning of the path with the house in the background.
  • A close-up of the detailing on the stenciled paver. It took about 30 minutes to make four pavers.
  • I spaced them out about every foot leading toward the pond surrounded with mulch. 2
  • I used a simple damask stencil on a paver. You could also create a monogram or stripes....whatever works in your outdoor space.
  • Simply apply paint designed to work with concrete to the stencil. I used a stencil brush and dotted the paint to create the design.

Stenciled Concrete Pavers

I think it's official! Spring is here! We spent all weekend outside working in the yard and the gardens and we have so far to go. ...»

There's a path that leads to the pond through a white arbor and it needed a little something extra. So here's a fun project I just completed on the stepping stones that lead down the path

Spring Cleaning Linen Closet Makeover

Hi there! I decided to redo my linen closet one day and make it pretty. I purged, cleaned and organized then I painted the entire inside a fun pink (the only place in the house I could ...»
get away with that) I added baskets to catch all the loose shampoos and such and coral the clutter. I only used what I had on hand. Stray baskets and shelf liner left over from the kitchen etc... I did not spend a penny but even if you had to purchase a few things, I did not use anything that would be very expensive to pick up. #springcleaning #linencloset #closet #organize - I added a cost of $35 for a quart of paint, Dollar Tree shelf liner, a few baskets and misc burlap and ribbon if you had nothing to start with.

Adventures in Chalk paint: free hand painted child's chair.

I bought this for $10 and covered the original drab grey with white and grey chalk paint. I wanted to do an Argyle pattern on this chair seat, but my stencil wouldn't lay flat enough so I ...»
decided to just try a free hand design. I started with pencil and filled in with black latex. Super easy and fun. I was surprised at how well it covered with a chalk paint base. Now I just have to finish it with a sealer and it's ready to use. I plan to try some more 'free hand' on other furniture in the future!
