  • I had just repainted my bathroom and a friend suggested I look at this site to revamp my large bathroom mirror. This is my before picture.
  • This is my completed picture, without stain. $163.00 in all and so far about 6 hours with myself and my brother, both novices in carpentry. 3
  • Left Vanity.
  • Right Vanity.
  • This was befor crown moulding and base moulding. I had yet to adhere the framing around the mirror. 2
  • First coat of stain. 1
  • Stained to match the below cabinets. Still have to steel wool, apply another coat of stain, steel wool again, and then one coat of satin finish polyurethane. 3

I used this idea and revamped my large bathroom mirror this weekend. Here are my photos.

  • This unique floor was custom ordered from a small shop in Mexico. It is a concrete tile with a hand made marble finish. This tile has been used in Spain and Mexico for generations in fine homes and public buildings. 1
  • Our homeowner wanted to renovate this 1928 kitchen to reflect its Spanish Colonial Revival heritage. We replaced inappropriate cabinets, and updated its modern appliances to bring new life to their updated kitchen.
  • We created this wall alcove to showcase the owners new mixer.

Santa's elves can take a break at our house. My husband and I finished the basement all by ...»
ourselves this year! 2 bedrooms, 1 bath with a tiled floor (including tiling around the tub with our son's help), a kitchen with a eating area, living room, laundry room, storage room, hardwood floors in all the main areas, sheet-rock ceilings in bedrooms and bathroom (tough!), and tongue and groove ceiling in the rest! It's been a fun year!

It's trickier than it looks! The contest ends Sunday at midnight and Hometalk will randomly choose the three winners from all correct answers. Happy holidays!

  • What plants did these three yellow leaves come from?

Test your "leaf lingo" and win a $250 Home Depot gift card!

I love the golden leaves of fall -- so much so that I took a photo of three of them from my landscape. Can you name all three?

Post your guess in the Comment box below and we'll announce the winner here Monday.

(In case we have multiple correct entries, Hometalk will conduct a random drawing from among them to determine the winner.) Have fun!
