How To Build Pantry Shelves

What could be better than floor-to-ceiling shelving in a pantry or closet? It is the best way to maximize storage in a small space. We recently built a pantry in our fixer upper home and we learned a lot of great tips along the way. We want to share those tips with you!

First we attached wood furring strips to the wall, making sure to screw into the studs in at least two places on each board.

Then we cut MDF shelving down to size and screwed them into the wall brackets from above.
All of the details about how we built the shelves can be found at the link below, including pantry dimensions.
I was shocked how much fit in this little space! For more detailed instructions and lots of little hints and tips to save you time and hassle, search for the full tutorial on my blog http://www.thecraftpatchblog.com/2015/03/how-to-build-pantry-shelves.html

OK I'm so extremely jealous and you have caused me to sin by coveting your pantry! I love it for many reasons but the big one is no wire shelves. I have no pantry and no place to put one when we redid our kitchen and we is loosely used we ordered items and had them installed. It was a hurry up job for many reasons anyway so I wish I could have thought it through. I grew up in apartments with pantries. I think that they are more practical than cabinets. So I had to settle for a cabinet pantry and wish I would have done a wall of them. So great job love, lovd, love your pantry. Enjoy.

I'm working on a pantry and I want to keep the process simple! I see there was a question about the "skinny post" where the shelves meet......did you attach the shelving or is it for cosmetics?

I understand it’s her kitchen pantry! I have the exact design in my house that the builder put in when the house was built! Those skinny boards are for extra support and stability! I wondered how they attached them and they used construction staples! Very sturdy!
