Wicker Paper Plate Holder Jack-o-Lantern Door Hanger

How many of you had these wicker paper plate holders in your kitchen back in the '70s and '80s? Well, they are ALL OVER the thrift stores now...and are the perfect plain, blank canvas for a repurposing project.

These paper plate holders are all over the thrift stores...plain, boring, and a blank canvas for creativity. I promise you, they are easy to fine and (should be) ridiculously cheap!
I thought they'd make a great decoration this Halloween, so I broke out the spray paint in order to transform mine into a pumpkin.
Thankfully, I already had felt in my craft stash to make a stem and a jack-o-lantern face. Find out more details in my full tutorial!
Then, I added some "just picked from the pumpkin patch" touches and it was finished! Ready to hang on my door for Halloween- BOO! And bonus- if you help with painting and cutting out the face pieces, this would be a great DIY craft project for kids!
