Reversible Pumpkins for Halloween & Thanksgiving

I love the craft pumpkins that you an carve and decorate and reuse year after year {after year}, but they can be expensive - like in the range of $25 each, which is too rich for my blood! After a lot of searching, I finally found a great deal of some white craft pumpkins last fall - only $7 each! But even after getting a great price, I still wanted to get the most bang for my buck, so I found a way to make the pumpkins work for both Halloween AND Thanksgiving!
I carved one side of each pumpkin and painted the insides to create modern peek-a-book Jack O'Lanterns. Then, after Halloween, I flipped the pumpkins around and spelled out the word "THANKS" on the other side for Thanksgiving.
I chose modern fall shades of gold, orange, teal and gray - painting the inside of the pumpkins, as well as the inner edge of the carved faces, creating fun "Peek a Boo Jack O'Lanterns." All the details on how I carved and painted these pumpkins can be found on my blog {at the link below}.
For November, I flipped the pumpkins around and used a simple technique using gold and silver Sharpies to spell out the word "THANKS" on the back of the Jack O'Lanterns.

You can find the full tutorial for how I masked the letters to create the dot pattern around them on my blog {link below}.
I love how these simple white pumpkins look on our entry table for the Thanksgiving season.
Bam! Halloween Jack O'Lanterns that reverse for some Thanksgiving glam! Two for the price of one seasonal decor - you can't beat that!
