Vintage Breadbox Makeover

I’m excited to show you my Vintage Breadbox Makeover today. I found this a couple weeks ago on a trip with my husband for $6.99 and it was a little dinged up but I knew it would be fun to paint it.
I started painting it about 2 weeks ago and white seemed so plain and boring so I thought I would just run to Michaels to get one of those great French Stencils to use for the top. Well come to find out these beautiful stencils are something that aren’t available in stores near me and I needed to order it online
So for about $5 – $7 you can buy this on Amazon, Walmart, Home Depot and many other great retailers.

Isn’t it fabulous for holding bread? I know many people are transforming these into charging stations too.
Here is the before. As you can see it was pretty dinged and scratched up.
For only $6.99 and the cost of the stencil it was worth it.
I found this great stencil online and I have more info on where on my blog for you.
When painting with a stencil you want to use a sponge roller or brush with very little paint on it so it doesn't seep through. More tips on my blog.
We just love it and it hides our bread on the counter.
Ok did you know there is a whole bread buying secret? My husband used to deliver bread way back in the day and here is the secret to getting the freshest bread. Here's a chart of when it get's pulled from the shelves and what day to buy what color on the tag. Come on over to the blog and you can share this or Pin it so you have it always. I never knew....lol.
Love our new breadbox and it was easy to makeover with just a little paint.

Come on over for more pics and details in the tutorial. Have a great day, Lisa.

I have this same stencil. Used it on a mirrow, a tile table with tile from side of road. I spray painted black then added matte shellac to protect it.
