Should the Storm Door Stay or Go?

Everything is white, orange and brown in this house. Need some advice on the front entryway please!
While waiting on permits to renovate other parts of the house including a 2 bedroom in-law arrangement I decided to start with the entryway. I'm not a fan of orange or tan and took the plunge painting the sidelights and front door a glossy black to highlight the lovely leaded glass. We've decided on brushed nickel for fixtures throughout the house.
Now that the sidelights and front door is done on the outside, what about the storm door? Should we just get rid of it or I'm thinking of removing it and spray painting it to match the glossy black. What about a brushed nickel color?
The white is just glaring to me yet the brickmold around the outer frame doesn't look bad but you really can't see the front door well, it's like your eye jumps to the white storm door. What do you think? There's more on our blog we are starting to chronicle the renovations done to this lovely house that sat empty for so long.

Could you paint it with Orange or white paint? Do you have any storms where you live? Do you really need it?
I would keep the storm door and paint it black. The whole idea of a storm door is for insulation so I would vote-stay.
I like the way it looks.
I would also leave the door. You never know what can happen.
We had the same dilemma when moved to another house. We ended up addressing storm smart customer service and installing impact-resistant windows and doors to protect our home from the devastating effects of a hurricane.
I love my storm door. It keeps drafts away.. What I did was paint mine a different color. I used Rustoleum auto primer, and then painted it with Rustoleum. You do not have to take it off if you use plastic to keep the overspray from other parts of the entry.
The black surrounding the sidelights and the front door really makes the leaded glass pop. I'd paint the storm door the same color as you used on the door & sidelight. Very classic look but many people are WAY afraid of black. I just had all of my kitchen cabinets painted black, added brass and brushed stainless handles and then did a simple design of brass color using a permanent sharpie metallic marker. It marker adds a bit of "pop" to the dark cabinets and wall. Everyone so far that has looked at them say they love the look but wouldn't have the nerve to do it. At over 80, I've got the nerve to do most anything and have become tired of always doing the safe thing and thinking about resale rather than making my home exactly how I want it.
Leave it as is, unless it really offends you!
The storm door adds protection to your home, change the color if you would like to.
