Curb Appeal: A Front Yard Makeover

From the outside this house was a wreck. Rotten wood, every plant either dead or grossly overgrown. When we went to look at it the listing realtor begged us to at least walk through the house...the last people drove up and left.
Well, we did walk through and ended up buying this I'm so glad we did.
We poured our heart into this house and loved it all over. We have sweat and worked, pulled weeds and watered. We plotted and planned then planted and pruned.
And now our major renovation project has turned into a major blessing. With subtle touches like the pots that hug the front door to layers of flowering shrubs, each detail brings us joy.
Fresh paint on the crumbly brick, new wood and reclaimed paver walks...all things used to bring life back to this desolate house. Come by and see the full before and after home tour on the blog. Full TOUR Please feel free to ask me any landscape and renovation questions you might have! I am happy to share our experience and whatever knowledge I might be able to pass on! From experience I see future roof damage from the big tree that overhangs on your roof. I have had the limbs of a big tree cut back to the trunk that were hanging over my roof because when wendy the limbs kept brushing against the shingles which removed all the "grit" that were on the shingles. I have a new roof now and no limbs are hanging over the roof. Maybe if you checked out the overhanging limbs you can avoid future damage. Like the update you did on the areas around your house.

Beautiful house and landscape job! If those people who drove up and drove off happen to drive by again, they will kick themselves!
