Happy Rose Trellis for Three Dollars

Victoria
by Victoria
I planted a bush rose that turned out to be a climber. I cut it back and installed a 4x4 post that was under the shed. I then found a small piece of wood and made a cap for it and added a fence topper for 3.00. I used left over 1x2 wood to make cross pieces to weave the rose bush through to support it. Finally I painted the whole thing blue. I wasn't satisfied.....
I found an old ceiling fan that was never going to be installed on my porch. I removed the blades and added them to the top of the post, removing some of the cross pieces. I used the tops of the spray paint cans for eyes. It looked somewhat like a dragonfly. I found a paper plate left from the grand daughters birthday party, it had polka-dots. I cut out some of the dots and used the plate as a stencil for spraying dots on the ban blades. I used two colors and must admit I did not worry about how sloppy it was.
Looks a bit plain....
Two weeks later see how much the happy rose has grown.....Total cost invested was three dollars for the fence topper. Everything I used was something I had including left over paint. Start to finish it probably took two hours to build.
