Remove white spots from oak dining table

Question

My dining table has white and sticky spots from using a hot pad under a hot dish.  The pattern transferred to my table.  Tried wood cleaner but it needs finishing somehow.  Any suggestions?

Get some Old English and 000 steel wool.....keep applying and buffing until it is gone, That is just old wax that turns white, you are simply removing it.

Mayonnaise!! Cover the area with a thin coat of mayo. Let sit for a few minutes, then just rub it in and then wipe it off. Works every time!!

There is a product called Howard's Restorer that comes in a variety of shades. Apply and scrub the top with 0000 steel wool and we. Should hep rejuvenate the finish, but won't hurt it.

If the white spots are burns, I think I can help you. Just put a white towel over the spots and iron over the towel. I tried this on our very expensive dining room table, and it worked amazingly well. Hope this helps!

Hi Tina, pour a small amount of olive oil in a bowl, and add about 2 tablespoons of table salt Wrap a small clean cloth around your finger and dip it in in the oil/salt solution and very lightly rub it in a circular motion over the white spots. Let it sit for a few minutes and then take a clean cloth and gently wipe it off. The white spots should disappear.
