DIY! Remove Your Shower Door

Easy
Buying your first home can be a completely stressful time in your life, especially when there are certain home renovations that need to be done as soon as possible. Not all of them have to break the bank or take endless amounts of time though! Sometimes even the simplest changes make all the difference. If you have a sliding glass door in your bathroom and are looking for a way to update it, here are step by step instructions. DIY! Remove Your Shower Door! Make sure to read more posts like this from Sarah at DIY Just Cuz!
A perfect bathroom update - just look how a little time and effort can completely transform a space.
The before picture - yikes!
Step 1: Remove the shower door.
Step 2: Remove the frame. You can remove the frame using readily available tools like a screw driver and hammer.
Step 3. Remove the caulk (using a product like goo-gone makes this process much easier). Now the frame and all its residue are completely gone!
Step 4: Hang your shower curtain and change some of the accessories in your bathroom for a final, updated look! The difference is remarkable!

Hello! I'm a casting producer with Lusid Media (www.lusidmedia.com) and we're developing a new TV show for FYI Network. The premise is: Fun personalities, age 20's-30's, who are renovating their house/property to either live in or flip. Ideally (but not a requirement) this is their first undertaking. We're searching for people doing this in various cities across the US in areas that are populated by a lot of Millennials. In reading this post it seems like you might be in the process of renovating your home. Does this sound like something you’d be interested in? If not, perhaps you know someone who is? If so I’d love to chat more about it. Looking forward to hearing back! Sincerely- Jennie Berger Jennie@lusidmedia.com www.lusidmedia.com

I have disliked my shower door forever, and have thought about removing it, but how did you cover the holes where the frame is attached to the tub? Mine has screws.

Yes, it can be done on a smaller shower stall.

Just have to adjust your measurements to fit.

I also commented below on how to achieve an elegant look for your bathroom...no matter how small your stall might be.

I did this same thing, but I did a triple curtain effect.

I hung the REAL shower curtain at the level needed to contain the shower spray.

Next, I hung 2 very long and very wide curtain panels in front of the shower curtain...from the ceiling to the floor and used decorative tie-backs to hold back each panel.

For it to be efficient, I positioned the curtain tie-backs VERY HIGH UP...almost 6' from the floor and then fluffed/ballooned the drape of the panels.

*sidenote...to keep the curtain panels from separating in the middle, you'll have to "pin them together" with something hidden.

But...you could be like me...I used an antique brooch that coordinated with my curtains. Added some bling to my bathroom!

    Fun!
