Rustic Night Stand: Furniture Flip

This extremely straight-lined night stand was perfect to work with. Very plain and boring. It's a handmade plywood constructed piece. So it's very heavy and sturdy. My mom gave it to me from her "garage sales stash".
This month during the Fab Flipping Furniture contest, we're going with the Geometric theme and I flipped my ugly garage sale night stand into a rustic beauty!
I sanded and stained the interior of the drawer, then added some stenciled tribal shapes on the sides. I changed the overall look by using a cutting board for the top.
The geometric shapes make the piece a very rustic "arts and crafts" style. Quite Adirondack feeling.

Similar to my grandfather's "tramp art" he did decades ago.
Using General Finishes products for color and mixed stains for contrast makes this makeover pop.
