I am looking for ideas on what to do with these stool tops. I thought about making a bar table out of them, but I need a stand. Any other ideas?

Here's what I would do. Cut some smaller disks to hold 2x4's to make a pedestal table.

This chair looks so inviting And the clock idea is one I've had pinned forever. Also a table with some sort of Iron legs would be fantastic. Like old treadle sewing machine legs!

@Caitlin McGehee The stand in this photo looks like a pulley wheel--from an old air compressor--with a steel pipe either welded or possibly clamped in with a piece of threaded rod running through the center of it and a nut at either end.

I have two complete spools reserved at Lowe's. I plan on making a deck table (with cut-out made for ice for cooling drinks, etc.,) and the other, a bit smaller, will be a large clock similar to this. Another idea is to comb your area for architectural pieces (metal) that can be used for legs.

If you wanted to use them just as decor, I'd use yarn and thread them as if they were buttons. Chalk paint to suit you or stain (as wood buttons). Mount on the wall or stand atop a shelf.

Have any old table legs, old desk that would fit under & secure, then use old dishes to make mosaic tile and grout, seal to protect. Great for flowers or patio table. Clock sounds good too, placed on the side of MY garage, enjoy.

They make great looking, old industrial clocks, to hang on the wall. The bigger the better. Buy the clock box with the extra long hands. They look awesome! Good luck!

The best idea would be to make a large outdoor clock out of the largest. I don't believe any clock works are water proof--so you will have to protect it with an over hanging. Paint and use the smaller sizes to serve your guests, use as a trivet for your barbecue as it comes off the grill or put wheels on to help you move your larger plants with

If I had some of these I would paint them to look like big buttons, run small rope through the holes and hang them on the wall in my sewing room.

I cut out Texas patterns using a jig saw out of pallets and glue them to the top of spools. I usually try to position them so that the holes are covered by the Texas. I've done quite a few now. Works out pretty well for wall or shelf decor. Thinking about making a lazy Susan out of one soon.

my current stockpile of spool tops. A lot of smaller spools you find have cardboard centers but wood tops. I take them apart and keep only the tops.

this is the very first spool top I ever did and it still hangs on our wall in our hallway right now in our home. It has a stamp on it right above the Texas that says hecho en Mexico. I made sure to take extra precaution when sanding not to sand it off.
