Fall Front Door Makeover

Fall is here! With the new season, comes lots of change in color. My front door also needed to change, so I thought this was the perfect time to fix it up!
Color inspires me, so I needed a front porch that reflected our family and said welcome. Eventually, I would love to replace the white columns, paint the trim a warmer shade, and extend the porch. Until those more pricey changes can happen, here were the quick ones our budget allowed.
I added a bright cherry yellow chair and cushion. The pop of yellow looks awsome against the red brick.
I added a little metal mailbox to the house to help warm up the space. The extra little accents are fun and a an element of surprise.
I simply stuck some yellow bulbs in our existing wood wreath. Again, I LOVE this pop of yellow.
I spray painted the existing light fixtures a shiny black, so they look fresh an alive again.
We added some mums and pumpkins. They are very fun and an inexpensive way to decorate for the season.
The biggest change we did was paint the front door. After studying all Modern Masters beautiful colors, we felt that their Spiritual color most reflected us. It is gorgeous!
It took a few coats to get the color just right. The white was such a stark comparison that it needed a few colors to cover it evenly.
It was worth it though! I love the way our porch looks now. It's such a better representation of my family. It's fun, welcoming, colorful and relaxing.
Would you ever paint your door purple?
I love the little makeover. If you would like to read more about it jump on over to my blog.

Great job! Where did you get the Modern Masters paint?
  • No question, but I would have loved to have seen a picture of the door and porch with the new paint and decorations from a distance! I just can’t really get the best impression of how it looks, from the close ups! Those look pretty, though!
