Geometrically Designed Dresser for the #septfabflippincontest

This month's theme was a geometric design. I was certainly intimidated to try this design, but I was also excited to step away from my usual design process. It was great fun and I was able to try a great product from General Finishes as well, their topcoat.
I definitely wanted to use circles, and also keep the geometric design which was naturally in the veneer grain because it was geometric and gorgeous. I decided to mimic those lines on other areas as well as embellish places with other shapes.
I replaced the top drawer knobs with circular ones I painted black, and repainted the original cylindrical knobs which were attached to metal semicircle pulls.
I carried the triangles to the far corners of the restained top to create a hexagon flowing down to the top drawer.
Geometric design is about clean lines and edges on your shapes so be sure to utilize painter's tape. It was my best friend for days doing this dresser. I will never forget its loyalty. And do not throw away your strips because they may be reusable if they will still adhere flat and not allow bleeding edges. So make fancy bow and pluck as you go.
