Don't Upholster...Paint! #FFFC-Geometric Design

I found a stained, outdated upholstered cane chair at my local Goodwill recently that badly needed a makeover. The chair had potential, but I wasn't interested in upholstering. This month I'm participating in the Fab Flippin' Furniture Contest and the theme is design. This month the sponsor is General Finishes. I picked my milk paint color, Coastal Blue, found the perfect geometric fabric and I was set!
I started by using a product made especially for painting fabric. I painted the product on, then let it dry for 24 hours. Once dry I painted two more coats on the chair back, drying for 24 hours in between each coat. The General Finishes milk paint is a great water based paint, that goes on nicely and dries to a soft satiny finish.
Once the entire chair was painted, I upholstered the seat of the chair in my geometric fabric. For one last tough I painted the bottom of the two front legs with 24K gold paint.
For more information on the project you can read it all on the blog post here: http://www.mypassionfordecor.com/2015/09/september-fffc-geometric-designdont.html

This is a magnificent save! You took an old had been chair, and made it new and fresh again! You have a great eye for detail, for design, and for rehabbing a chair. Oh, how I wish I had that innate ability, but alas, I am just a beginner (at the advanced age of 53.) My hubby and I work together on these projects, and we are trying so hard but I feel I am way out of your league. So well done, you should be proud of yourself and your talents, I'm sure many people are.
