The BEST Way To Make a Tiered Stand!
I've seen quite a few tutorials for making tiered stands, but most of them involve gluing pieces together, which doesn't make a very sturdy stand. After making and selling more than 50 of them, my husband and I believe we've found the most sturdy way to make them, and we've created a full tutorial to show you how to make your own!
We usually use old enamelware bowls for our stands, but we've also used pie tins, colanders, old coffee tins, etc. You can really use anything metal, as long as you have at least 3 of them whose sizes and shapes look good together.
Every tiered stand needs the same supplies,
1) bowls or pans
2) a spindle to connect each level of the tier
3) Wooden plaques
4) Double ended screws and trim screws (see photos in full tutorial on the blog)
5) E6000 glue
First you'll need to drill a hole in the center of the bowls, wooden plaques and spindles. If you don't know how to find the exact center, I show you how in the full tutorial at here - http://knickoftime.net/2015/09/tiered-stand-tutorial.html
You want to paint the spindles and plaques in a color that compliments the bowls - we usually paint them white, but occasionally also use red or black.
Now the assembly begins! This project takes less than an hour to finish, and you'll think of hundreds of ways to use your tiered stand. You'll soon want to build many of them, because they are useful in any room in the house!
