Jack O'Lantern Drinking Glass Clings

20
Easy
My boys are just old enough now to really understand the fun of Halloween, so I wanted to come up with some ways to help them enjoy the holiday throughout October - and one of my favorites is this quick and easy way to turn their drinking glasses into Jack O'Lanterns.
When I came up with the idea to create Jack O'Lantern faces that I could stick to my drinking glasses for Halloween, my first concern was how to make them easily removable and resuable. Like all of the projects I blog about here, I try to put practicality and functionality first. For me, it's no good to just get a pretty picture of the project - if the project isn't actually usable for me or my family in the long run, then it's not worth my time.

After considering the options, I ultimately decided on the one that would make the project easier for others to quickly replicate. All the details, and a link to a downloadable template are on my blog at the link below.
I filled the glasses with some bright orange juice to get the full Jack o'Lantern effect!

My boys also have some orange plastic tumblers, and the faces work perfectly on those as well - especially on a daily basis when the boys are just drinking milk and water. And of course, it's fun to mix and match the pieces to create new faces each time.
We've used and reused these Jack o'Lantern faces - just peeling them off before washing the glass - and they are holding up great! Be sure to visit my blog for a link the downloadable template, as well as an easy tip for storing between uses!
