Free Large Pallet Made Into Rustic Twin Bed Headboards

We have had 2 metal twin bed frames only for our bed setup in our bunk room upstairs for quite a few years now. I always knew that we needed headboards for them in the back of my mind, but believe it or not it wasn't until I saw the hubs take out this pallet (our grill was delivered on it) to be trashed according to him, that the little thought balloon came on in my head to cut this large long pallet into 2 pieces and make 2 headboards for our twin beds.
When I showed him that with his help these would be very cool rustic headboards he relented & helped me with cutting these in half, he also helped get the 2 x 4 board attached with screws onto the 4 x 4 legs. The actual pallet I sanded down so no splinters could be had and then using paint samples I wiped on and wiped off quite a few coats, until I got just this greyish blue color you can see in the pics. Really love that my pretty blue matelasse pillow shams now have something to be propped up on.
The duvets here are Room Essentials from Target, the coverlets on the bottom are actually bedspreads folded up found at a garage sale, the matelasse blue pillow shams are from a resale store. So as you can see this pretty much was a pretty thrifty affordable makeover for our bunk room upstairs.
These pallet headboards have made these beds much more stable and sustantial. The metal bed frames do have locks on the casters, but the pallets have really made a difference in look and feel of these cute beds now!!

just A heads up. Some pallets are treated with methyl bromide, a toxic pesticide .Do some research before hand.
