Marbled Candle Votive

Last year I used nail polish on some fresh miniature pumpkins to give them a marbled look. I loved how they turned out, but because I used fresh pumpkins I had to throw them out after the season was over. I wanted to try it again in a more permanent way this year, and I love how it turned out! Making these marbled candle votives is so easy!
You will need a large bowl of water (be sure to use a bowl you won't mind ruining!), nail polish (the super cheap stuff from the dollar store works great), and glass votives or mason jars.
Pour at least two colors of the nail polish into your water

Use a stick (I used a bamboo bbq skewer) to drag your colors around and mix them a little. I used white, orange and black for a nice Halloween look, but you could use any mix of colors for any event or holiday!

Dip your glass into the water through your nailpolish colors and lift back out. Let it dry on a sheet of wax paper or paper towels.
you can vary the look by adding more or less of a color, or by how much you mix it before you dip your glass! I love how versatile it is!

Nail polish can have a strong odor. I find that the cheap ones especially do. Make sure you're working in a well ventilated space (which I forgot to do, whoops!)
I'm loving how they turned out, and this year I won't have to toss them when the season is over!
