Easy DIY Burlap & Galvanized Letter "GATHER" Sign

I love a pretty sign. I love words and sayings and fonts and letters. And I love galvanized anything. But I REALLY love Burlap!!! This sign was the culmination of all of these elements I love... plus it was CHEAP! I am also joining in for the
I started out with an inexpensive luan board, which came available in a 36" length. I used the luan because it was thinner and would weigh less, but you can use a 1x if you have that on hand.
You will need to decide what you wish to spell out, and this in turn will determine how long you need your board to be. Don't worry if you don't have a saw to cut the length to your needs, your friendly Lowe's guys will do it for you.
I found these letters at Hobby Lobby. They are regularly $2.99 each but I waited until they were 40% off. :)
I cut the burlap about 1 1/2" wider all around. I didn't even measure, I just did a rough cut. Then, I used my Heavy Duty Stapler to attach the burlap. I treated the corners like a "package."
I also added some small sawtooth hangers on the back. This is easier to do before you add your letters.
There were a few more steps I took, so hop on over to my blog (see the link below) and see exactly how I finished this sign. I love how it looks with my DIY Galvanized Wall Half-Bucket.
It hangs above my Farmhouse Sink and I could not be happier with how it looks.
