DIY Roman Shade From Mini Blinds

I’ve always love the look of roman shades. Many times I’ve considered making my own, but every time I look at the directions, I felt too intimidated to try. However, recently I’ve noticed a bunch of great bloggers showing you how to create a roman shade out of a mini blind. Here’s my take on this awesome DIY Roman Shade project.
Basically you need to only use enough slats to make the folds. The rest of them get thrown away or can be used for another project.
Some people like to line theirs if you will be able to see them from the other side by these are not. For more photos and step by step details check out the full article.

I think I'll give it a try for the back of the house. What about the street side of the blinds? Did I miss something?

Great idea. I have been thinking of making curtains with a rod to fit within the window frames but I really like that your project has helped solve my problem. I will use the fabric for curtains for the remake into roman shades.

Lining should be simple. I recommend lining them because on very bright days the sunlight comes through the blinds. If they are lined they look much more expensive and have a finished look from outside!
