DIY: Painted Kitchen Cabinets

I decided to take the plunge and paint my oak kitchen cabinets. Today I am giving you step by step directions on how I tackled the job and pictures of the end result!
First begin by washing your cabinets and then sanding lightly.
Using a tack cloth, wipe off.
I used a clear bonding primer from Sherwin Williams. It acts as a glue so your paint will adhere to the surface.
Tape off and paint two coats of your paint once your primer has dried.
I took all the cabinet doors and drawer fronts off and painted those with a brush for edges and a roller for the panels.
I removed all the hardware and used black spray paint to upcycle the existing hinges.
The updated hinges.
I purchased new drawer handles to update the look.
The final product!
I left the doors off of two sets of cabinets to create an open shelf look.
Much needed update. I love the final look. It lightens and brightens the kitchen! See the full reveal over on my blog.

I have a problem I used rustoleum transformation for cabinets with the dark glaze, my problem is the wood grain has darkened more and I am not happy I would like to paint them but not sure what to do to prep for painting over the rustoleum kit.
