Kitty Angel Chalkboard ~ Thrift Benefit for Sheltered Animals

I was so happy to be part of a group of bloggers who worked together to raise awareness for thrift stores that help support animal shelters. The idea was to buy an item in one of these stores and help support them that way and then repurpose the item or items.
I was introduced to cats after I was married and we were blessed to find 2 of them at our doorstep and make them part of the family. I have since seen them as angels with whiskers.
I found this angel at the thrift store. Since I don't own a scroll saw I needed some wooden wings and thought these would be perfect.
Once I removed and cut the wings in half, the idea was to use them behind this thrifted cat and the wooden knobs were going to be the cats...
paws... decorative and useful to hang things off of. I then attached my cat angel onto a chalkboard that I had made out of a cupboard door.
The colouring and design of the cat was modelled after one of our rescued kitties.
I think this look great in a little girls room or a kids playroom. I will be selling it in my booth and giving the proceeds to the local animal shelter. ;o)
