Make Personalized Nutcrackers

I like to feed my sister's nutcracker addiction every Christmas. For a few years now I have been getting plain wooden nutcrackers and turning them into personalized family members for her. The two featured here are my most recent ones.
All you have to do is decided which family member or person you want to model your nutcracker after. Then paint the outfit to reflect their occupation and/or hobby.
I even took it a step further by printing out some logos and mod podging them onto the nutcracker to complete the look I was going for.
I took some cheap paintbrushes I didn't like and transformed them into baseball bats to go with the baseball player.
I also made a glove for the baseball nutcracker from a foam sheet. I painted a bead to look like a baseball.
Back view of the baseball player.

I have done this for years for my husband. Try going to thrift stores. I find some that maybe missing pieces or even broken its easy to refurbish them with pieces from craft stores. I have taken off capes etc and turned them into pirates, drummers bakers even toy makers. I hope you carry it on. My husband now has over 30 nut crackers and my grand daughter's each have the same amount. It's so much fun to seethe difference each year. We even one that's egyptian. Good luch
