Rustic Industrial Hanging Shelf

Hi! I wanted to share this super easy and quick project I made for my dining room. I wanted to have a sideboard type shelf, but my dining room is small, so I wanted it to be a little "lighter".
I also needed it to cost close to nothing! I was able to pull it off, and it only took about a day, including drying time for the stain.
I found the cool looking piece of wood in the backyard and wanted to find a way to use it. I left it sitting in my garage for a while and had the exterminator inspect and spray for bugs. Then I sanded, sanded and sanded some more.
Next, I drilled four holes that are in a perfect rectangle, although they don't appear to be.
Then I stained it with a couple of coats of Minwax Ebony and then used this epoxy to fill all the little cracks and holes and make the whole board a little stronger.
I had to work quickly, mixing small amounts at a time, then smoothing it all out. When it dried completely, I sanded some more.
Then I used these little hangers and some chain, both of which I found at Wal-mart for about $7 total. I ran the chains through the and underneath the board.
I love the rustic, industrial vibe it gives my dining room.
Then a few decorative pieces.
