How to Make a Monogram Wood Pumpkin Door Hanger

I've been crushing on all things pumpkin lately, and I just love those wood pallet pumpkins that are everywhere right now. So, after seeing a few plain ones in the store, I asked my Hubby to make one for me to decorate, and he did!
The Hubs enjoys woodworking, and I like painting, so together, we make a good team!

We always have scrap wood from various projects, so the Hubs found some 1 x 6 wood fence posts, and ourlined the shape of a pumpkin.
Then, he cut the boards, attached them together, and it was time for me to paint!
I wanted the pumpkin to be old and rustic looking, so I used Annie Sloan Old White to paint the front. I used thin strokes, and since the wood was unsanded, I got the rough, chippy look I was after. Then, I added some gold polka dots for a touch of whimsy.
Then, I added a painted wood monogram and used twine to make a bow and loop so that the pumpkin could hang on the door. And that was that!
