Faux Deer Mount

If you've admired those beautiful white deer heads, this hack is for you! Take an inexpensive paper mache deer head and make your own faux deer mount.
I purchased this unfinished papier mache deer mount for an unbelievable $15 with a coupon. You can buy a white papier mache deer mount already done for about $100, but I was sure it could be done myself for much less!
I gave him a couple of good coats of white paint, let the paint dry thoroughly between coats (he is papier mache, after all) and then gave him a good coat of matte finish Mod Podge.
The Mod Podge gave him a tough finish, as well as a pretty, but matte, sheen. He makes such a delightful addition to our fall mantel this year!
